WorkSupplements, United States · Marketplace to owned demand

Teaching a marketplace catalogue to sell on its own site.

A broad herbal range organised around benefits rather than SKUs, with subscription treated as continuity instead of a discount.

The context

Nutrivein sells a wide range of natural and herbal supplements with a marketplace heritage, where the buyer arrives already knowing the ingredient they want. On an owned storefront the customer behaves differently: they arrive with a goal, not a molecule, and a long alphabetical catalogue asks them to translate.

The store already had the right structural pieces, including benefit-led navigation and a subscribe-and-save program. What it lacked was a hierarchy that put the goal first and made the subscription read as convenience rather than a coupon.

What we looked at

The interventions

What changed, and why it should work.

  1. 01

    Led with the outcome

Benefit routes such as energy, immunity and detoxification were promoted ahead of the flat catalogue, so a first visit no longer required ingredient knowledge.

  2. 02

    Reframed subscribe and save

Positioned recurring orders around the repurchase curve, not the saving, so the larger commitment answered the practical worry of running out mid-course.

  3. 03

    Set the use expectation upstream

Added plain timeline language on product pages, since most poor verdicts in this category come from misuse or an unrealistic week-one expectation.

  4. 04

    Cleaned the first-visit sequence

Reduced the number of overlays and prompts competing in the first few seconds, so the benefit routes were actually visible.

What became true

Where this transfers

Brands that grew on marketplaces and now need their own site to do the explaining a marketplace listing never had to do.
